TWO MONTHS IN REVIEW
|
| |
|
|
Presidents talk about their first one hundred days in office and what they hope to accomplish. Then, when those three-months-plus are finished, they give a report to the nation. Retrospectively, my tenure as your pastor is just over two months. But, it may be helpful for me to review the God-sightings I have observed from the pastoral office.
God has been very good! By that, I mean He has been very kind in showing His favor to us. I have sensed His smile in the freedom of ministry we have enjoyed. More than that, I rejoice in the relationship we have developed as pastor and people. The spiritual atmosphere in our times of corporate worship has been excellent. I give the Lord the credit for His grace.
Every service has had its highlights. But, I believe recent events have been especially noteworthy. Let me cite several: The generous Fall Offering, the touching Installation service, the paving of the parking lot, the enjoyable Trunk ‘O Treat (despite the weather), and the intentional outreach of Friend Day. Each carried its own unique kind of blessing!
I want to thank you for your love and support. The Spirit is doing a “new thing” at Bethesda—and you are an important part of that. As we pray together and work together as one body, He will accomplish His supernatural purposes for our church.
No doubt, your thoughts now move forward. So, what are our goals as we finish this year and start the new year? Where do we go from here?
Of paramount importance is building stability. I want first to build spiritual stability as we “build by the Book.” Our programming will reflect that. But, then, we must build financial stability. I have gone on record as saying that I would like us to call a worship pastor as soon as possible. That will require more consistent general fund giving.
God is able! Money follows ministry! Pray with me—and believe God with me—for a continued outpouring of His provision as we follow Him!
